plutOS was my first dive into the theming community for iOS. Although it was a bit of a mess, it was really my first dive into any sort of actual graphic design, and so it holds a special place in my heart as one of my first moments of realization that if I don’t like how something looks or feels, I should get working on making it better.
The premise of the icon theme was to keep things dark so that when you’re using a dark wallpaper on iOS, you can keep your whole theme consistently dark while maintaining colour in the icons. The typical route for establishing a darker iPhone setup on a jailbroken phone was (and pretty much still is) to use a simple glyph theme that provides enough contrast with the background for it to be useable while staying out of the way. I wanted to be able to keep the colourful aspect of the icons of iOS but compliment the dark background at the same time, so my icons stayed true to the original rounded rectangle at this point.
