During my time at Laurier I’ve sought out opportunities to engage in activities and with departments who challenge me to lead and push myself to grow as a creator, and as a human being. My natural passion for athletics and desire to continually make contributions to the systems that I am empowered by lead me to take on the role of Digital Productions and Outreach Co-ordinator during my third year at Laurier.
In this role, I am responsible for the creation of graphics that are in-line with the recently re-designed brand standards set forth by Laurier Athletics in Waterloo, as well as generating other forms of content for digital and social media. Often working in collaboration with my co-coordinator (who is responsible for the video output of our brand) and my supervisor, I’ve created posts such as schedules, tryout postings, story takeovers, athlete of the week posts, and more, even going as far to work with a peer to develop an Instagram face filter utilizing Spark AR for our homecoming festivities.
I work mostly in the Adobe Suite, creating graphics using InDesign and creating a consistent identity that considers the long-term ramifications of student leadership by generating these posts in a sustainable, scalable format that can be passed on to the student leadership team that will follow me.
